flakes

Flakes were formed in 2006 and they are based in London, Athens and Patras. Being influenced from bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Interpol, Blur , the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Libertines, Editors, the Dears, Bjork, the Killers, the Kooks, Franz Ferdinand and Hard -Fi, art-punkers Flakes create tunes that combine alternative, indie, post-punk, pop sounds.
In August 2006 “Demo” was recorded. Their first album “Lick your Fingers If you Like it” was released in 2008 from Inner Ear. While in the studio for the recording of their debut album Flakes were selected to perform in Exit Festival 2008 (Novi Sad, Serbia) for MTV Live Music Stage.
They have appeared in many festivals and venues in Greece and abroad (supporting bands such as Bloc Party, Primal Scream, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Nine Black Alps, Puressence κ.α)
In September 2009 being the finalists of Coca Cola Soundwave Contest v.3, the band had the opportunity to record new material at RAK studios, London. The recorded track was produced by Helen Atkinson (RAK studios) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Sterling studios)
