Kid Flicks was born in Lefkada 24 years ago. His self-taught relationship with music started in his high school years. At times he had participated in some groups, until in December 2006 he decided to start writing his own music, without having something specific in mind, except the name “Flight36-B”.
At the beginning of 2011 he salutes “Flight36-B” (mainly because it doesn’t completely suit him, it was too complicated and most people misspelled it) and renames himself “Kid Flicks”, a nickname he already used for his illustrations and artwork, as a graduate graphic designer.
His music is inside and outside the boundaries of pop music. He uses guitars, bass, mandolin, synths, percussion, found sounds, effects, samples and voice, in a way that sometimes makes them difficult to discern.
To the question “say something that characterizes him”, some of his friends’ responses are: he paints and takes notes all the time, but at the same time has his mind on what is happening around him, he tries clothes that will never buy, he makes up stories about people and situations of his entourage, he makes trip arrangements and travels on the same day, he screams without warning when he finds himself at places that nobody can hear, when looking at books and records he loses contact with his surroundings.
Artists he feels he has been influenced from are: The Residents, Todd Rundgren, Harry Partch, Himerini Kolimvites, The Flaming Lips, Mike Kelley, Charles Dickens, Paul McCarthy, Black Dice, Satyajit Ray, De La Soul, Sebadoh, Paul Klee, Sun City Girls, Beach Boys, CY Twombly, Al Hirschfeld, John Baldessari and Loukianos Kilaidonis.
