modrec

Modrec are a post punk, noiz rock band, with enough progressive elements and less math core in their music. In these last 10 years, they have gained the trust even of the most demanding audiences of this kind, by taking steps slowly and regularly and by following faithfully but also spontaneously DIY morals. Furthermore, through many live shows, the unexpected success of “Fly” live show in London, and the maturity as well as, the teenage brashness of their songs, they have coiled a faithful audience that follows them in everything they do.

Modrec were formed in 2001 by Dimitris Aronis (guitar, vocals), Kosta Halioti (Drums) and Labis Kountourogiannis (guitar, vocals). In 2005, George Bouldis (bass) came along, while in 2009 Serafeim Giannakopoulos took over the drums.

In March 2008, their first full length album “ArtNaive”, which was produced by Modrec and Ottomo, was released. The recordings took place in Fabliquid Studios, while the album was mixed by Alex Newport in New York and mastered by Jeff Lipton and Maria Rice in Boston.

Modrec started touring all over Greece in order to promote their first album. In March 2009 Modrec performed live at Stavros tou Notou live club in Athens with special guests the Saint Catherine’s British School Choir. Their innovation to combine 20 children’s vocals with their noise rock music was much discussed and the concert sold out.
